A memory of SU Life

Survival of Raihan

Our favourite friend Abo Raihan had an accident on 22 November 2013 at 8am. Actually that day he was coming to Southern University to attend the class from Bandarban.

After reaching university what I heard that he was coming to university by tampo from Karnopoly Bridge ( Shahaamanat Satu ) . When he was in tampo  a bus hit the tampo and he fell down and the tampo was on him . Because of this he got seriously injured but had a little sense ,at that time a group of police reached there . When the police came forward to help him , he brought out his mobile and told that there was a OC’s number in inbox whose name was Faruq sir .

The police phoned the OC and informed about this accident . He told them to carry him to Chittagong Medical College  Hospital. They brought him there and Faaruq sir reached there without any delay .

By getting this news in the class , I went to see him with my some friends immediately . When we reached CMCH , the gate man did not permit to enter into. Faruq sir managed our entrance by taking responsibility own. By entering we went to see Raihan. We saw that he was senseless and was in life support so we were not able to talk with him . We also saw much blood shedding and trembling of his chest .

After some time we went out from medical because he was being sent to x-ray room. At the time of coming we met our many friends who were going to see him.

After some time I came to university with my friends and joined the class but my mind was in Raihan’s picture not in the class.  After some time Faruq sir informed immediately blood was needed for Raihan. Some of my friends agreed to donate blood. Firstly Rummi Datto, Nural Alam , Mamon and so on went to medical to donate blood. After getting x-ray report , it was known to us his five bones of chest were broken and one of the bones spotted his lungs . For this it was not being easy his treatment.

After class I returned to my job location and thought about him how he cured. I prayed to Almighty  Allah to safe him. Next day I called Faruq sir to know about him . He informed me , about 10 bags blood was pushed into Raihan’s body and much blood would be needed. I informed this news many friends and they came forward to help. Joynal Abedin ,our close friend, played a great rule to collect blood.

By the mean time I was informed by Nurul Alam the treatment of Raihan was very expensive but his family was not able to bear this cost. I proposed him to send a massage by writing this to our friends. I also told him to open a bikash account by using his own number.

Suddenly I was informed by one of my friends that CMCH released him being insure his survival and proposed to bring him to Surgy Scope  Hospital in Chakbazar.Raihan  was shifted to this hospital and was in ICU under life support .All of our friends helped financially what they could. I wanted to about him but every time it was informed that he was senseless.

OC Faruq sir ,Joynal vie , Jasim sir ,Monohori , kabir vie , Nural Alam, Ali vie ,Karim vie  and so on took care of him . Our department also came forward to help financially. A notice was declared to collect financial help from various class of the university. The authority of our university helped financially and allowing to collect money from university students.
One day I informed that Raihan was sent to Dhaka Apollo Hospital for developed treatment because of informing the inability to cure of Surgy Scope Hospital.

During strike , he was sent to Dhaka with police protection by affording of Faruq sir. Everyone of us left hope about his survival but tried to get him cured. After some days spending in Apollo Hospital , he got sense but was not able to talk I was informed by my friend, Joynal Abedin. He told me to pray Allah and tried to arrange financial help.

Generally this kind of accident leads a man to death. Very few of this kind injured patient overcome death ,Raihan vi one of them. In spite of the help of all friends I thought it was not possible to get him alive without the kindness of Allah. At last Raihan’s survival was possible only by Allah’s help.
